  • Want my car to shine!

    Hi,

I just bought a black 2000 Ford Mustang last week. And I want this baby to shine! The paint is in good condition except for some normal wear & tear; scratches, tiny specs of paint missing, unknown quarter sized stains (bird droppings?), & some type of tar or other residue that I can't get rid of. So what products will I need, and in what order should I apply them? Thanks....

Give it a good wash first. Then use a clay bar to make sure the surface is totally smooth and clean. Then you may try meg's deep crystal system #1, #2. In place of step #3 in the system, use NXT wax. If you have a PC handy you can use a more aggresive product like #83 followed by #80. If you are doing it by hand i would suggest using the DC system. Hope this helps to get you started.

for local scratches you can use ScratchX

but if you start planning to do the whole car for cobweb removing i would use the swirlremover and a polish in combination with a Porter Cable then you have certainly a good start for the next steps you wanna take for maintaining and protecting

good luck and post some pictures

What part of NJ are you in. If you are not far from staten isand, take a trip over weekend and I will let you see the results of different products on customer cars. If its slow, you can even try some of them out to which you like.
Products are only a good as the detailer using them.
