Machine Swirl Lines

Hi guys, a friend of mine had his car cut and polished at a detailer about a year ago and the results were not good. His car came up with all line and swirl marks. Anyway i told him to come on over and i would try a few hand products. First i used scratch x on a small section and it seemed like it was to easy to remove these lines? Then just out of curiousity i tried gold class wax on a different area and it seemed to remove those marks. I then followed with the whole car just using the wax.

Now my question is, am i just hiding those machine marks or have i permanently removed them?

The ScratchX is removing the marks and the Gold Class is hiding them. If you want to check, take a mixture of half alcohol and half water and clean the area. This will strip any wax or polish left. Then you can see what you are left with.

Even the ScratchX could be hiding them if you arent working it in well enough.

This is true.

The goal would be to work the ScratchX correctly and completely remove the swirls and then apply the Gold Class Wax to seal the paint and protect it.
