  • The Last PC question

I just bought a PC 7336 at my local Lowes. I noticed that it had a 6" counterweight. I remember that you should match this to the size of the backing plate, but the only pads that fit on a 6" backing plate are 8" wide. Do 8" pads have any effect on the quality of the work for better or worse?

I used the 5" backing plate and 6.5" pads with my 7336 and i haven't had a problem yet.

The only reason I ask this question is because I am afraid of damaging my PC. I would actually prefer to use the smaller 6.5 foam pads.

I used it last weekend for 3 or 4 hours with no problems, I didn't notice any abnormal vibrations, it seemed to work flawlessly with the 6.5" pads and 5" backing plate. If I have any issues in the future, i will be sure to post.

Thanks a lot, now I can return my 8" pads and exchange them for good ol 6.5ers.
