  • Question re consumer product line.

Some consumer product questions (for use on a new car).

    1) DETAILER - what is the difference between:
    • quik detailer (A3310) and
    • NXT speed detailer (G13224)

Both seem to be described the same way re maintainance in between waxes
    2) CLAY KITS -what is the differrence between:
    • the smooth surface clay kit (G1016)
      (bundled with clear was/microfiber) and
    • quik clay detaliing system (G1116)
(bundled with quick detailer I think.)

Is it just the bundled items, or is the clay of different abrasion/size?
    3) WASH : What is the difference between:
    • deep crystal car wash (G10464), and
    • NXT generataion car was ( G12664)

Is one more abrasive?? I plan to wax with NXT tech wax.
    4) CLEANER - What is the difference between:
    • Cleaner Wax (eg: (A1216) and
    • Step 1 Deep crystal cleaner (A3106)

I assume both are used after claying a car.
    5) CLAYING STEPS - When I am readdy to clay, what cleaners/polish should I be using? I would be hand polishing and this would be my first attempt at claying. Are the steps something like:
    • wash
    • clay (with a quik deailer as a lubricant)
    • clean with Cleaner Wax or Deep Crystal cleaner
    • polish with Step 2 polish(A2116)
    • wax with NXT Tech Wax
    Many thanks

Basically the same thing, just different lines, personal preference..

    2) CLAY KITS -what is the differrence between:

Quik Clay has been discontinued from what I hear...Smooth Surface Clay Kit comes with Quik Detailer, Supreme Shine Microfiber, a 4oz sample of Meguiar's Cleaner/Wax, and 2-100g Bars of Clay

    3) WASH : What is the difference between:
    • deep crystal car wash (G10464), and
    • NXT generataion car was ( G12664)

Again, personal preference here, I like Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo & Conditioner, but haven't tried the NXT or Deep Crystal

    4) CLEANER - What is the difference between:
    • Cleaner Wax (eg: (A1216) and
    • Step 1 Deep crystal cleaner (A3106)

I assume both are used after claying a car.
Cleaner Wax is a Cleaner, a Polish and a Wax all in one step, the Step 1 is just a Paint Cleaner

    5) CLAYING STEPS - When I am readdy to clay, what cleaners/polish should I be using? I would be hand polishing and this would be my first attempt at claying. Are the steps something like:

      • "All of our mist and wipe products are for removing light dust, fingerprints and smudges, each of the formulas are a little different depending upon the application or line they're in. Regardless of which one you choose to use, they will all work great. The best thing to do is to purchase a bottle and give it a try and see how you like it, if you don't like it you can always take advantage of Meguiar's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee." (Mike Phillips)

Personally I use QUick Detailer so that when I clay i'm always sure to have extra bottles and never run out. NXT is the new stuff.

NOPE. Same system. Just different bundle package. They are different clay types of clay. There is Mild Blue which is C-2000 and Aggressive Red which is i believe C-2100. these type come in individual tubs, small round tubs and not in the box bundle. They are part of the professional line i believe.

      • No major difference. I believe its just choice. I am currently using Deep Crystal Car Wash and have used NXT Gen wash as well. Both work reallywell. I like NXT better. i feel less water spots. but remember to each is own.

      • Cleaner Wax or A12 is sort of a one stop shop type of deal. Its one of MEGS most versatile and is formulated to work well with all finishes. It has rich conditioning oils and some gentle cleaning ability which makes it a good product for everyday guys or daily drivers. SO you get the clean/polish and wax in one bottle sort of deal.

With Deep Crystal Cleaner, well now you're going the long route (the better route I feel) which is you're specifying a different product for each of the five steps. This way is more involved and more detailed. It assumes more of your time as well.

        Wash
        Clay
        Paint Clean
        Paint Polish
        Wax

yes after you wash your car, clay it, dry it and then begin. i've included a few link sfor you to read which you'll benefit from.

      but yes. the steps are.

      Wash - NXT Soap
      Clay - Clay Kit
      Paint Clean - DC 1
      Paint Polish - DC 2
Wax - NXT x 2 (always two coats of wax so its even)

      or you can go

      Wash
      Clay
Scratch - X (this requires alot of work. it depends how badly swirled your car is)
      Meguiars Number 7
      NXT x 2

read these and hope it helps. post more questions if and when you need help.

      cheers

      best of luck
