  • White Residue removal

Hi, new to the site and finding some great info on here. Great to find people who are as fanatical about Meguiars as me. Just have a quick qeustion about the best way to remove white residue from crevices. For example: bonnet vents, door handles etc. The product that left residue was Cleaner Wax - Paste.

Im getting a rotary this weekend. Up to now ive only polished by hand. I use #83 and #26. Would i be able to apply both these products by rotary or will it be best to leave #26 to finish by hand? I have a few spare door panels to practice on first so dont worry im not taking a rotary to my proper car with no experience!

Also my best friend and i are removing sponsorship stickers from his car this weekend, what is the best way to clean off the adhesive and get the paint back looking fresh?

Any information at all would be most helpful.
I'll try get some pics of my cars up as soon as i can.

I use a pink eraser for larger crevices and an eraser pencil cut to a sharp edge with a razor blade for the fine crevices. Works great, doesn't scratch and is inexpensive. I also use products that don't dry white.

I'd heat the decals with a hair dryer or heat gun and peel them off. Remove any residue with Dupont Prepsol or similar solvent.

If a straw doen't work , try a used 'extra soft' tooth' brush, trim it down to the size needed and there you go. This has work very well for me in the past but it will take time to get rid of all of it.

Once again welcome and lets see some pictures of your ride!

                  Re: White Residue removal

Ive tried tooth brushes before, they never worked well at all for me.
Give plastic razor blades a try or an old credit card (cut the CC in half of course for safety reasons).

Uhh, yeah, I posted a question on that to one of these boards. I am interested in which ones you KNOW don't dry white... please!
