    This (see below)

    Plus this (see below)

plus one gallon of hot water
plus 1 ounce of NXT wash

will give you roughly 10 mins of this: (see video at link below)

    http://www.hillclanfishing.com/car/nxt_foam.mov

I tried it for the first time sat morning at the nearby coin-op. Foamed it up, rinsed it off, and rolled back home in the rain. It got off a lot of the winter crud that just rinsing alone hadn't. It took about 15 mins. And cost $3.00. Next time I am going to load up 2 gallons and foam it for a full 20 mins. 2 gallons of nice warm, foamy NXT has got to be a good thing.

Here is a tip. After you are finish foaming, take the pump out and set it aside. After you start the meter, rinse your sprayer tank and fill it with 2 gallons of "spot free" water, before you rinse your car. After you rinse your car, carefully drive home and park, rinse your car again with the water you brought back. Your car will be pretty clean, and your sprayer will be clean.

It needs some tweaking but it looks really promising so far.

    Interesting idea....

Vid link isn't working for me, QT acts like it wants to play but then it just shows the QT Icon.

EDIT: let me see if my QT needs updating.

That's strange. It works fine on one of my machines, but on another I have to open quicktime by itself, then go to the file menu, then hit open url and put in the link in order to see it. It seems to have something to do with my browser settings. I'll let you know if I figure it out.

The upgrade was the problem, works fine now.

Thats from the sprayer? There is a more power there then I thought there would be. Looks like that would work quite well.

Where did you get the foam tip?

Yeah thats all from the sprayer. Those things are great if you live in an apartment or condo. It's no substitute for a garden hose but it's great for spot rinsing. I use it for all kinds of stuff car and houshold.

I got the foaming tip from Jacks Small Engine and Generator, LLC in Jarrettsville, MD it cost $4.00.

I just got the tip on friday.

It's basically just a standard Gilmour Fan Nozzle with a little piece of screen that flips up or down. It doesn't use a venturi (yet anyway.)

You could probably get the same effect out of the stock nozzle, a piece of screen and a rubber band. I haven't had time to tinker with it too much yet, but I want to try a number of things. I would like to make and install a venturi valve with a choke on it to introduce air into the solution. I also want to try stacking a few more screens and experimenting with different materials such as finer mesh screens, or a piece of panty hose material. I would like to get a little more dwell out of it.

I am using it with XP and for some reason my computer struggles with Qt(has since day one), so for that reason I don't care for Qt and if I didn't have to I wouldn't have it on my computer.

Yeah it stinks. I tried to convert the video to .avi or .mpg. I tried 3 different programs on 2 different computers. They all say the same thing. There is something wrong with the QT codec. It's frustrating. When did Apple become as bad as Microsoft?

Ok I just went to home depot and they have one sprayer that has a foaming nozzle. It was an ortho sprayer that had the clear/white container. It is 1 gal. Cost was $19 + tax. I also looked at Wal-Mart, Target, and Menards. None of those stores have a sprayer with a foaming nozzle. I did not purchase the sprayer just yet but I might get it, test it out, see if I like it or not.

Don't do that! I'll slap a sticker on mine and ship it to you for $59.95. Just kidding!

I really like that Gilmour. I have had it for a while and just beat the heck out of it. Lowe's almost always have them. You could order a few of the red nozzles from Jack's Small Engines online. They arrived pretty quickly. I would love to hear about the Ortho if you get it.

I think you could just MacGuyver your own nozzle for now.

The red nozzle is the one from Gilmour. It has a piece of fine screen that can flip up or down. That’s it! The brass nozzle came with the sprayer. Now pretend that the white piece of plastic is a piece of fine screen or plastic mesh. Pretend that the rubber band is really a rubber band. Assemble it as pictured below.

I wouldn't go with adhesive or tape because you want to find the right material/combination of materials. I think if your screen is too big you should probably double it. Don't attach the screen in such a way that it disrupts the functionally of the nozzle. You must be able to turn it to adjust the flow.

I experimented with some different concentrations of NXT solution, and so far it looks like 1 ounce per gallon works the best. I think Megs already nailed that. I'll explore that further but that will probably be my baseline mix for future experimentation. It pays to read those labels and follow directions.

$10 more but you got a whole extra gallon capacity. Hmm Ill see. Ill check out the other ones there first. Thanks for the heads up though. Question btw. Do you just foam up the car and rinse it off? Do you use a mitt or anything to clean it?
