  • Samplers available?

I tried asking this in an exisitng thread and it never got any response, so I'm trying again with a fresh thread.

Are the Meguiars waxes available in sampler sizes or a sample kit of some kind? It's a bit expensive and a pain to acquire 4 or 5 different 16-32 oz (or larger, in some cases) bottles just to find out which one is the clear favorite for our particular car, finish, etc. - then have 3 or 4 bottles just sit around b/c they weren't the best fit for our situation.

    Suggestions?

      Re: Samplers available?

There are samples being made for use this year, we're not sure if they're ready, as in we're not sure if they have been manufactured and shipped to the warehouse and are available for example someone like me to walk out to the warehouse, grab a handful and then stick them in an envelope and mail them to you at your house address.

We also don't really have a program for the above. The samples are primarily for use to hand out at car shows where Meguiar's has a booth and a team of people interacting live with the public. They are available for our Saturday classes when people are live in front of us in a class.

See the convienced of the above to examples? We have samples with us and people in front of us. What we're trying to say, is at this time we don't have a program in place for people to ask for samples and we have an employee in place to process request all day as a job. Take our word for it, we get a kijillion requests for 'stuff' all day long, if we implement a formal program for this it would likely grow out of control. It's a great idea, but chances are, and I'm not a bean counter, but the first two examples have priority because there are mechanisms already in place to make them happen at a cost that is acceptable.

For what it's worth, being in business doesn't mean an endless supply of money, there's a cost and a benefit to everything and while all of the above have benefits, at some point you have to prioritize and run with the options that work out the best overall.

Okay, that said... have you tried calling Customer Care? If not, the call them at 1-800-347-5700 and

That's key, because we value our active members on this forum. Your taking the time to
      • Register with the forum
      • Post a message asking for help

This means a lot to this company. Anyone can pick up the phone or shoot us an e-mail, (and that's important too), but it takes more time, energy and follow-through to join the forum and actively post a message. For this reason, cite this thread when you call. Tell the Customer Care Rep your post name, Samplers available? and let them know it's in the Detailing 101 forum and if we have samples in our inventory, (and I don't know that we do yet), then I'm sure they will do what they can to help you get a sample or two.

      How's that?

Just to note, we don't have samples of products like M80 and M83 or even M21 The samples I mentioned in the above posts are LITERAL SAMPLES as in 1 ounce Mustard Packs of usually New Products. - not like compounds and cleaner/polishes in our Professional Line.

Please re-read my entire post above and note that when I write something on this forum or any forum I choose my words very, very carefully so no one can misconstrue or read something else into what I've written.

Thank you and please let's keep the requests for samples limited to what we already have available.

Sadly, reading and comprehension are not the same....

Just an idea also. Put something in the For sale or Trade section. I keep thinking about offering some samples for sale. Just so people can try some products out. I have a great local store that gets me what ever I need.

I know it would be a huge undertaking but both times I read this thread I think of the following. You know how included in the smooth surface clay kit comes a Sample size or better yet trial size bottle of the cleaner wax. This is what I'm thinking. A 4 oz. bottle of the various products Megs makes. Enough to do a vehicle but not enough to send you to the poor house try to come up with the ultimate prescription for the needs of that person. Once you find out what works, then you can purchase the regular size bottle. Just my $0.02 worth.

That's a great idea - wouldn't even have to be free - just a reasonably-priced sampler would work, the same as the clay kit, only as a wax/polish kit.
