  • Using Megs prods by hand VS. PC

I'm new to using the (still in the box) PCDAP. That said, I have some concerns, confusion, about choosing the right Megs hand application products VS the DA application products.

I saw no mention using the DC 5 step system, in regards to using the DAP.

If that is the case, what Megs [DA machine applied] products would be the equivalent to the DC 5 step method?

Reading through some of the threads, and being I have black paint, using the 5 step method claims to be what I should be interested in. However, said black paint covers a truck, hence my desire in the PCDAP.

    Thank you.

    Step 1 Wash

    Step 2 Clean

    Step 3 Polish

    Step 4 Protect

    Step 5 Maintain

In terms of using the G100 with products equivalent to the DC system, although you can still use DC1, DC2 and DC3 with the G100, the following products are what you're looking for.

    #83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish
    #80 Speed Glaze

if you're still having some doubt about using the PC G100 for the first time, grab a copy of the DVD that's out there and you're set. the DVD is a must for all detailers and it'll teach you every little detail.

a couple more links for you. since you have black, and swirls tend to appear faster on black. here you go.

Just to add, the Consumer line uses single step products, that is a cleaner, a polish ,and a wax.

The Pro-Line has some cleaner/polishes in it, which would include #82, #80 and #83.

So, that gives you the option of doing more of a 4 step system, just using

      1. wash
      2. clay
      3. cleaner/polish
      4. 2 coats of wax

Or, you could still work in a pure polish for absolute best results:

      1. Wash
      2. Clay
      3. Cleaner/Polish - #80
      4. Pure Polish - #7
      5. 2 Coats of wax

            Thank you for the links.

Do you have experience using Deep Crystal with the PCDAP?

I'm assuming DC would be more prone to splatter and sling in comparison to the Pro line prods, no?

            Thanks.

Re: Using Megs prods by hand VS. PC

i had no problems when i used the DC with G100.

                Murr

you said how you can do this.

                1. Wash
                2. Clay
                3. Cleaner/Polish - #80
                4. Pure Polish - #7
                5. 2 Coats of wax

doesn't 80 have enough oils that you can go straight to wax. won't the oils in 7 just take out the oils in 80.

i always thought that M80 and NXT have enough polishing oils to get a high gloss on a new or like new finish.

could be wrong? please correct me here.

Yes, #80 has a lot of polishing oils.

If you use #80 first, #7 is just optional, but if you really wanted to eek out every last bit of good looks, then you might consider it.

Now, you would probbly never see the difference on a light color, but on a dark color, you might.

                    thanks murr.

i figured it was optional and for better results. but i was just wanted to clarify that with myself. i was doubting my thinking that's all.

                    thanks..
