  • How long should I wait new paint to cure?

I just got my rear bumper repainted, and I was wondering how long should I wait for my paint to cure before I can starting caring for it? Thanks.

I heard that you should wait as least 90 days (three months) until you can apply silicone based wax to a body shop repaired finish; but you can wash and use a pure polish(like #7) ,as much as you want, to make the new paint look like a jewel!

You can take care of it immediately by washing, polishing, and using a quick detailer.

You don't want to use a wax or sealant until the paint has cured. If you want to be conservative wait 120 days for waxing.

#80 is a nice polish to use. It is fresh pint safe, and has a bit of a proective polymer in it. Not as good as a wax of course, but at least it is something.
