  • NXT Product Problem

    Hi to All,

It has been a long time since posting but need to know something about the 64oz. NXT Car Wash I just purchased from amazon.

I ordered 4 bottles of the stuff (I get free shipping with them) and it all arrived and all of bottles were separated where the dark thick purple stuff was at the bottom and watery substance was near the top half of the bottle. I shook it up and it does improve a little but even if it all mixed together, will it be good?

    Re: NXT Product Problem

Given the weather in your part of the country lately, it sounds like it might have gone through a freeze/thaw cycle. I'm inclined to think that if it won't mix back to a normal state it may well have been damaged. Perhaps Mike Phillips will chime in on this one, or another MOL member with more experience in this area (it was 90 degrees here yesterday, I'm not that familiar with freezing temps any more!)

Chances are good if you add the appropriate amount to fresh, clean water it will work perfectly fine to make a soapy solution that will effectively clean you car. Try it and see. Personally, I wouldn't let it bother me, or stop me from washing my car.

        Re: NXT Product Problem

I just wanted to follow up since I posted last week on my separation of NXT Car Wash and I hate leaving a half baked thread behind.

I brought in all the bottles from the garage. The garage is heated but the warmest it gets to is around 50 degrees when it is about 15 degrees outside.

I tipped the bottles over and stored them with the bottom sides up to let the thick portion of the solution settle. A little later, I gave the bottles a good shake and put it back on a shelf to let it clear from all the air bubbles from all the shaking. When I checked back later, the product looks perfectly normal. I have not tried the product yet because I am still using an already opened bottle I have but will soon. I suspect that I will not have any performance issues. So I guess I could say happy ending.

Just as a note, I buy a lot of my meguiar's stuff through the internet because it is easier for me even though it is available everywhere around me. However, any time I get it from Amazon dot com, there seems to be a problem with some of the products, as in the NXT Car Wash. I also have bought products where the sprayer triggers did not work on three bottles. I therefore, am not going to buy anything in a liquid form and will stick to the towels and brushes only.

Further, I also buy from ADS and NEVER, EVER had any issues with the stuff Rick provides. Plus, he makes sure your getting the right thing/s and will email you to just make sure if there is something odd . So for now on, ADS is now my preferred supplier of Meguiars products.

I just went to a local Pep Boys and I too noticed the NXT Car wash had seperated the same way. I was too worried about the way it looked to buy it. Also I have 2 64oz bottles of NXT Car wash that I bought at the end of last year (the old label) that have lost all of it's purple color , it's now sort of like a lighty milky brown, it has been stored in a heated basement all winter, did Meguiars do something to the formula? It seems to work alright though.
