I am maintaining an old Maxwell car in a open museum so dust is common on the exterior and interior. What techniques are recommended to keep this car in a nice looking appearance without washing it?

I'll bite: if the car is properly waxed/protected, you can pick up one of those dusters that use static to attract dust and VERY CAREFULLY dust the car once in a while. Do not apply any pressure. Matter of fact, try to minimize the contact between the duster and vehicle's surface. The key is to lift all the dust with static energy. -

One of those California Dusters and some QD works pretty well.
I spray down my car with QD and use a clean microfiber to get rid of minor dust from storage.Chris
