  • How to apply #21

I have used NXT for the past 3 years and based on the rave reviews of #21 (Synthetic Sealant), I ordered and should be getting it soon.

My car is 3 years old and in good condition. When I apply NXT, I use the even-coat applicator. Let it dry and wipe. Is it the same procedure for #21?

I do the whole ritual of wash-clean-polish-wax-wax twice a year, before winter and after winter. The rest of the time I just wash-wax, about once a month. I am running out of NXT soon, can I just replace it by #21 for all my waxing needs?

mis3, the #21 should be very similar to the NXT when working with it, as well as the end result. Both products work to provide a deep, dark shine while putting down a nice long lasting protection. Also, both will work to eliminate very fine scratches and swirls while still being quite easy to apply and remove...

I've finish my 2 oz. sample from a friend. I applied it just like any other wax/sealant. I have email Meguiar's USA to purchase it and they have forward my email to their dealer in my country. It's arriving this Friday. So glad & happy. Thank u Meguiar's.

They are certainly related, but you have people who prefer each one.

                  My observations.

NXT produces the wetter shine initially. Per Meg's, it also provides the longest lasting protection. #21 produces a look very close to NXT and that look doesn't degrade over time as fast as NXT does. IMO, either is a great LSP.

While I have #21 on my shelf, I personally use NXT Tech Wax and I use NXT spray booster wax on it after every wash or at least every other wash. This results in the stunning looks lasting for months. NXT does require more attention to keep the finish looking it's best but IMHO, NXT looks slightly better than #21 so I don't mind the effort.

As I said before, I have been using NXT and it has been great.

From my research (mainly this forum), #21 lasts longer. The shine is almost the same but this is not that important to me because my car is silver. I just ordered #21 because everybody says it lasts longer.

I used to apply NXT to my wheels as well. Can I do the same using #21?

                      Sure.

Meguiar's doesn't make any claims as to how long a wax will last on a wheel due to heat, also if you use a strong wheel cleaner on the wheel to clean it this will probably remove the dirt and the wax, but something is usually better than nothing.

I simply use car wash (NXT and Gold Class) to wash the wheels. Even in the dealership when they wash my car, I ask them do not use strong cleaner (they use mild acid) to clean the wheels.

I think NXT on wheels is great. Just hope the #21 has the same degree of heat resistance as NXT.
