Looks like clay smudges to me! Like the others said, not enough lube. They will be difficult to remove but I doubt your paint is ruined. You must have been really stingy with the lube because Clay Magic doesn't require that much lube to begin with. Did you use their lube or something else?

I would definetly say the clay didn't ruin the paint, clay majic is a quality clay. I would say you ruined your paint. Contaminated clay, dirty car, ect, not enough lube, ect....

If it is merely clay smudges, these can be removed by carefully wiping them off using a quality microfiber polishing cloth with or without some spray detailer, just wipe slowly and carefully, take little bites out of the smudges, don't try to wipe entire areas at one time.

Another way would be to apply a paint cleaner like Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner or ScratchX and work it against the smudges on the paint, then while everything is still liquid/wet wipe the entire mess off.

This could actually be done with just about any paint care product, as in a paint cleaner, a cleaner/polish, a pure polish a wax, etc.

The idea is to take a clean applicator pad, foam, terry cloth or microfiber and then gently apply some kind of liquid paint care product and work it against the smudges/paint and for the most part loosen and liquefy the smudges and then wipe them off.

Of course you only be doing the above to a clean car with clean paint, that is any loose dirt needs to be removed or you will rub this into the smudges/paint.

So do what you have to do to get the car clean and it could be that if you wash the car, just the act of moving a wash mitt over the surface with a quality soap will remove most if not all of the smudges.

After you have removed any clay residue, however you do it, then inspect the paint for swirls and scratches that may have been instilled into the paint and if discovered remove them using your dual action polisher and either a paint cleaner or a cleaner/polish.

              Then apply your favorite wax.

              Simple Simon.
