I have a Jeep Liberty Sport with the unpainted gray plastic flares and bumpers. Driving home from work tonight I ran through what looked like some motor oil in the roadway. I did my best to avoid it, but it appears that a very small amount splashed on the inner and bottom surfaces of the rear fender flares. Its also possible that the oil has been there considering that the weather has been poor for the last three weeks. The weather has been too cold to wash the car, so it will have to stay as it is probably until this weekend or early next week.
My questions are what would be the best product to remove the oil without damaging the plastic and is there any harm in leaving the oil as it is for several more days? I guess that I have been lucky up to this point in that I've only had to use soap and water to wash the flares. Thanks.
