  • DOES COLORX remove SWIRLS????

On the website it says that colorx removes swirls but does it actually remove them or just temporarily fill them? I'm also confused about when to use colorx and if im just better off using a different wax altogether.

    I'd say fill.

I think it has more of the filling properties, but that is just me.... and shineshine. I think its better if we wait for the expert of all experts to chime in-Mike phil, just to be sure.

        Re: DOES COLORX remove SWIRLS????

ColorX is a strong cleaner/wax that contains both chemical cleaners as well as diminishing abrasives, so it does in fact have the ability to remove swirls and scratches, another way of saying this or thinking of this is to say that ColorX has the ability to remove paint.

Remember, the only way to remove a swirl or scratch is to remove the paint surrounding the swirl or scratch.

Another thing to remember is when it comes to the cleaning or abrading power of ANY product, not only is the ingredients in the product a factor but just as important is the "MATERIAL" you use to apply the product/chemical and the METHOD you use to apply the chemical.

ColorX can be applied gently with a soft foam applicator pad by hand, and it can be applied with a dual action polisher with a foam polishing pad on the 5.0 speed setting and really worked against the paint.

The latter making the product more effective at removing paint than the first method.

Lots of variables to always consider. If you just apply ANY quality wax by hand, if the wax works at all then it will fill because if it's working that means it's leaving itself behind on the surface and coating over the paint.

        Coating over means filling in.

        Think about it.

I used colorx on the weekend on a 91 Acura that hasn't seen wax in 10 years. It did an amazing job at easily removing the oxidation. Great product for those quick details. The car has 322,000 k. Still looks pretty good.
