Color X, scratch came back

I worked the color x in on my hood with a foam pad applicator and got a good result and the next day i took the car out in the rain, when i got home i see the scratches came back on my hood, but it disappeared when i sprayed a QD on it,

The scratches i got when working in color x with a bad towel, now i use foam pad applicator,

whats going on?

will the same thing happen if i use scratch x before color x?

Color-x does not remove scratches. You are probably just hiding them, then they come back.

You could try to remove the scratch with scratch-x, then use the color-x or a polish and wax.
