    Will using 83, 80, and then polishing... Work on a gelcoat like it would on normal paint?

    I have someone who has a fiberglass topper with a gelcoat.

    I know on normal paint this proccess is amazing and can return a car to like new paint.

        Those products will not be as effective on a gel coat surface as they would a basecoat clearcoat paint job. Gel coats are much thicker and harder than auto paint. If you look on Meguiars.com under the boat and rv section, we have products made specifically for gel coats.

            Gelcoat over fiberglass sounds like a boat.....you might get a quicker response, and more informative, by posting in the Marine Section.

                Yes it will work. Especially the M80 after first removing the majority of the oxidation and/or defects using the M83 because it is very rich in Meguiar's Trade Secret Polishing Oils and these oils will penetrate into the gel-coat and will bring out the richness of the color of the gel-coat. Waxing will lock these results in.

                Meguiar's recommend using products from their Marine Line when working on gel-coat surfaces because in most cases they will work better and faster as they are specifically formulated for these surfaces.
