Has anyone used this????

I recently got my car back and they did a horrible job cleaning it and it now have swirl marks.

Is it really worth it to do It by hand or should I use a buffer?

It's a lot of work to do the whole car. But it can be done.

It's hard to say. Do you have pics?

It depends on a lot of factors.

How deep are the scratches?
How big is the car?
How hard is the paint?
Can you use both hands pretty well?
Are you prone to tendonitis? (not kidding)

Scratch-X is something that you will want to have on hand anyway. So if you don't have any get some. Try it on a small panel and make a determination from there.

Sometimes 3-4 aggressive applications of Color-X topped with some NXT will really tone that stuff down. You might be ok with it at that point.

A buffer is going to be best of course, kind of sounds like you are thinking of getting one anyway.

But as the above links show, ScratchX definately works, but it ***** to have to do a whole car.

Buffer is a great long term investment. You absolutely could do the entire car with scratch X and a lot of elbow grease. I would pick some up, a few applicator and some quality microfiber towels and give it a try.

Why not just use the new ScratchX with a PC? Whole lot easier to make several passes that way, in 1/3 the time. If you're talking about a large area - like the entire car - you don't want to do it by hand unless you've got vacation time coming.

what kind of buffing pad is best when applying Scratch-X?

With the PC use the polishing pad (8006). If that works, use a finishing pad (9006) to apply LSP, or do by hand.
