I was wondering about Wheel Wax. Does it really work on tire's.

I have heard about how this stuff really shines wheels. I also heard that it makes the wheel resistant to brake dust. Do you know of their website? I have been unable to find any in my local stores.

The best idea is to polish them up really nicely and then apply a synthetic product to protect your work. Wax will evaporate in a short amount of time from the heat of the brakes.

Have not tried it but it sounds like a cleaner wax. Has anyone tried ColorX on their wheels? $15 for Wheel Wax vs. $6.99 for ColorX???
        www.WheelWax.com is the web site.

You might also try NXT after they are polished up.

        Just a thought....

I have a jar of it; it's a great idea, but it doesn't work. It's not as good as #20 on wheels. It's about the same as doing nothing.

It's for wheels, btw, not tires.

I use the NXT booster...its a pain to use on the rest of the car...but used it wet on the wheels...went on and came off easily...nice shine too...

i tried NXT on my rims of my Mach1. it brought out the metallics of the painted area (a dark metallic grey) really nicely. come to think of it, i don't know if i had waited the required 15 minutes. oh well, i guess i'll just have to redo them this weekend.

              not the best picture though.

Lynn, it's not a cleaner wax; it's a highly static wax that claims to use that property to cling to the wheels and also to repel brake dust.

It looks like and has the consistency of butterscotch pudding, and has a really nice organic smell. It goes on and comes off easily, and looks really great; the wheels "shimmer" when you look at them. One jar goes far; I'd estimate at least 100 applications per jar, if not more. I really want to like this product.

Wheel Wax very well might repel brake dust, but I'll never know, because what really happens is that the heat from the wheels evaporates the wax in about 100 miles of suburban type driving.

If anyone wants to try Wheel Wax, I'll parse out what's left into 4 or 5 containers and send it out to whoever PMs me an address.
