  • Just checking

    Hi Guys,
Would just like to confirm if what I am about to do with my car is correct or not and could do with a few tips on applying the products.Car is white and paintwork is in great condition although I dont know what if anything has been used on it before.Basically I am after a good finish to protect the paintwork from the elements and a great shine would be a bonus.

    1.Wash then thoroughly dry.
2.Apply DC paint cleaner using what? and how many will I need for a large car? Also remove before it dries even though the instructions read "allow to dry to a haze".
3.Apply NXT Tech Wax again using what and how many for the job? Then allow to dry and buff with a MF cloth.

Is there anything else I should do assuming that what I have planned is correct and is there any point in adding multiple light coats of Tech Wax or is one ample?

    cheers,
    Mick

Apply DC Paint Cleaner using a High-Tech Applicator Pad and remove with a quality 100% cotton terry towel or better yet a quality microfiber towel (Supreme Shine Microfiber). There is no need to let DC Paint Cleaner dry, it can become difficult to remove once dry. So remove damp, once you work the product in its job is done. Not sure why the directions say let it haze, I know on this forum Meguiars states there is no need to let their paint cleaners or polishes dry.

NXT should be applied nice and thin, kind of a transparent haze... apply with a High-Tech Applicator Pad and remove with a quality 100% cotton terry towel or better yet a quality microfiber towel (Supreme Shine Microfiber). This product you let dry then remove. If you have time and wish to apply a second coat go for it, I think it gives a slightly better look, many do a second coat.

You ask how many? Are you asking how many bottles you will need for one car? If so only one bottle, NXT and DC Cleaner should last several cars.

Any thing else we can help you out with?

Thanks for the info gb387.Sorry about my wording in the first post. With regard to how many I was asking about the use of applicator pads. How many would you use for applying the products to the car.I have visions of one pad blocking up in no time at all.

          cheers

            Re: Just checking

When applying wax you should only need one.... as for cleaner you might need a couple, I always have lots of new applicators on hand you never know when you might need one and they can be used to apply many different products.
