  • Omg!! Please Help!!!! Asap!

OH CRUD! well my car got rained on yesturday so I really needed to wash it, stupid me I did it in the sun , and now I have water spots in the paint!! I just put it in the garage(my dad let me, suprisingly)

I'm sooo worried, I don't even know what to do. Heck I had Polymer Sealant and Carnuba Wax on the car (2 coats of carnuba, 2 coats of Polymer Sealant, followed by 1 coat of carnuba again).

It's an Acrylic Enamel paint job as mentioned in the other thread.

Someone please help me out ASAP, I'm so mad but it was my fault!

Don't give the water spots time to ruin the paint! Either try to remove them with some quick detailer (assuming the car is still clean), or give it another wash.

If that doesn't remove them, break out the paint cleaner and you'll have to start over. I would think you'll be ok if you take care of it soon. I don't think you could get very bad etching in just a day or two (but what do I know?)

have you tried to take them off with #20 ? it has mild cleaners in it and will remove the first layer of #20 which is more than likely what the spots are stuck to. Give it a shot it moght work. If now you will have to get a more agressive cleaner but the still should come of without too much work....relax, deep breaths...

Well I just cleaned it off, and pulled it outside, it's not AS noticeable but it's still there , what should I do?????????

Do you think if it waited till tuesday to get all detailed again will the water spots be able to come right off?

I'm gonna buy the 3 step meguiars and clay bar!

Will it be okay till then?

Hehe I have done the same thing many times. I even did it with no wax on the car (in my dumber days). The spots came off with my next wash and my water is HARD.

Go buy a bottle of white vinegar and wipe the spots with the vinegar. If the spots are mineral deposits the vinegar will dissolve them.

Yes white vinegar is a good idea. I have never needed to use it personally, but I detailed a friend's car that was sprayed with a sprinkler every day for 3 years and the vinegar took the spots right off. Good suggestion jfelbab.

While vinegar may or may not work (as I've had good and bad luck with it myself), be sure that you follow up with your typical procedure for re-application of a protective layer.

The vinegar will remove any surface protection that you have and thus, you may be creating a lot more work.

I've had very good luck with a scalding hot wet towel to remove some water spots.

I applied the Polymer Sealant #20 by Meguiars it kinda worked I guess. But you can still see them just not as bad!.

On Tuesday I'm going to try claying the whole car! then right after that do the 3 step Meguiars Product.

Do you think it will take the water spots right out using these products givin?

Also my paint is Acrylic Enamel ( no Clear Coat). Will any of those products scratch my paint?
