    hello all, which of these 2 are stronger using a pc on a 8006 pad with the setting at 5?

    According to Mike Pennington, Scratch X would be similar to #82, which is very mild. #80 is stronger than #82, so it is most likely stronger than Scratch X. #80 also has more polishing oils, so that would save the polishing step.

      Glad you ask this question. I was laying in bed the other night wondering about this. I knew that scratch-x didnt have the oils that #80 did, but I didnt have much luck getting #80 to break down. I thought that the new scratch-x may be a little easier to work with.. Not tried it though, but Ive always had good luck with the old scratch-x by hand.

        Sort of on topic, maybe not. Has anyone used #83 by hand? More, same, less effective than Scratch-X?

          I cannot believe that people can use #80 or #83 by hand and get it to break down? You all must really put some passion behind the pad!!

            IIRC #80 can be used by hand, but #83 cannot. I think Newport Viper used #83 by hand on a set of wheels though.
