  • Tire Dressing

I have been off the detail seen for quite some time and need to know what everyone is using for tire shine. I like the wet look with min. sling. I almost bought a gallon of the hyper shine but never pulled the trigger. Also I was looking at some a company called chemical guys make. Just need to know what everyone recommends. Thanks

    Re: Tire Dressing

No one seems to agree on tire shine. I like endurance natural look, but others like the shiney stuff. That's why there are so many choices in the Meguiars line. I don't think any of them have real sling problems, give one a try, there is always the moneyback guarantee.

Getting your tires clean will solve a lot of sling problems, and look better anyway. I like to spray on some APC and work it with a toothbrush, or other soft brush to clean the tires first. Then apply the dressing.

I like the endurance because it last so long but I tend to put too much on and it slings like a SOB. I wanted to try a spray on. I have been using the hot wheels and like it due to the fact its an aresol, but I want to buy in a half gallon or a gallon this time. Its just for my 2 cars. I know it sounds crazy, but hey I like trying out new things.

If only I could water down the endurance enough to spray it on.......

I have had good luck with ASD (all season dressing) as a tire shine. If you apply it thickly, and then come back a few minutes later and wipe a minimal amount off, it will be shinier. If you wipe more, you will get more of a natural black, minimal-shine look. You can apply it thinner to get those results too. Sometimes I prefer shiney, sometimes I don't. It just depends on the car for me. I haven't had any problems with sling either after putting it on our Yukon XL's tires.

I use Hot Shine on the car's I detail. I spray it on and wait alittle bit and spray another coat on it.
