A buddy of mine bought a '99 Subaru that was used for autocross. It has 12, 3" high x 2" wide letter stickers on each side that appear to have been on there since '99. He used a hairdryer, fingernails and goo gone to no avail. I was gonna try to use my heat gun to try to get them up. Any other ideas? They are so old, they are starting to crack. I think it's sand and paint time, but I thought I'd try. (paint isn't so good anyway)

Re: decal removal from paint
I had a horrible time removing vinyl recently. Took about 4 hours to remove two extremely deteriorated vinyl stripes that ran the entire bonnet (hood) on a black MINI Cooper. I'll send you the link to my writeup offline.

Hmm seems I can't PM you. Why don't you either PM me or email me and I'll provide you with my experience on this.

Re: decal removal from paint
3M makes an adhesive remover. I removed 2 year old pin stripes and had a pain getting the residue off. I spend about an hour to get 6 inches off. Ran to the auto body shop and they told me to try it. Worked great, did the rest in like 30 mins. From the sounds of your buddy's they are a lot worse then mine were, but might not hurt to try. Just a thought.Scott
