I'm thinking using quick detailer before waxing will effect the wax's ability to bond to to the paint.

It shouldn't be an issue at all. In fact, I'd rather see someone go over the car with a QD and microfiber before waxing if there's a chance of any dust contaminating the process.Michael Stoops
