Is M26 more susceptible to separating than other waxes? I have a bottle thats only a couple of weeks old and it separates very quickly (as in overnight) and is nearly impossible to shake it into submission. It hasn't been subjected to any temp extremes. Its not a terribly big deal, just wanted to know if that was normal.

Re: M26 separating?
I bought a 2 qt container of M21 from ADS about 3 months ago. Same problem with seperation as everyone else. Seems to be 4 distinct layers if it sits for any length of time. Shaking it mixes it a little bit, but then it seperates real quick afterward again - I mean in minutes.
I'm calling Meg's support tomorrow morning.

Re: M26 separating?
I called Customer Support on Monday, spoke to Tim. He said that the product went bad, that's why it seperated. I told him my bottle was only about 6 months old. He went on to say that shelf life on most products is 4 years and this product was probably old (I wonder about that, I was under the impression that M21 was a new product???). Anyway, he said to send it back to them and they would replace it. Kinda wish the return shipping charge was covered, probably going to cost me about $10 to ship back a product that was bad from the get-go.

Re: M26 separating?
Mike,
Thanks for the help!! Much appreciated!
I have it boxed & was going to ship it out USPS Priority Mail tomorrow. I'll wait on shipping it until I hear from you.
Again, much appreciated!!
Just before I called Megs I was getting ready to place an order with ADS for a bunch of supplies, mainly gallon size bottles. After hearing that product shelf life is about 4 years I scaled my order back and ordered everything in spray bottle size (24oz??). Might be better ordering this way and reordering when supply is low rather than having it go bad. After all, I'm not a pro; I'm just trying to keep 2 vehicles and a Harley looking good!!

Re: M26 separating?
JimS_999,
Thanks for your patience. Mike forwarded the thread to me. Sorry for the confusion. I think what Tim meant by "old" was an old batch that Mike referred to in his post. Tim has been here almost three years and saw the introduction of M21.
Generally we require proof of purchase and/or the remainder of the product to send out a replacement product not purchased directly from Meguiar's. At times we request the remaining product be sent back to us because we are trying to investigate a specific quality issue. The M21 was a perfect example of this although I believe the problems were addressed and should be remedied in all new bottles being produced.
I did speak with our Quality Assurance manager though and he has informed me that we no longer need this product to be returned, but if you could please forward us the batch code off the back of the bottle we would appreciate it. This means you do not need to mail the bottle back to us. We will be happy to send a replacement right out, but we will need your full name, address, and phone number. Thanks again for your patience. Please forward me your info and let me know if there is anything else I can do for you.Brian Hann

Re: M26 separating?
I actually wouldn't worry about it too much.
I think most of Meguiar's waxes/sealants seperate.
M20 Before shaking
After 2 Mins of shaking
M21 Before shaking
After 2 mins of shaking
After 5 mins of shaking
sorry my pics aren't that good because they were taken with my PEBL.
For a while M21 did streak, but I have found that if i leave it for 1.5+hours then it doesn't streak. I have not had any problems with M20 even though it seperates.Patrick Yu

Re: M26 separating?
Hi sneek,
Your pictures are fine and your point is excellent, most products, ours there's, etc., experience some extent of separation if left to stand for any length of time, that's why on the back of the label for most of our paint care products the label always reads,
Directions: SHAKE WELL
or
DIRECTIONS: SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.
We used the word "most" in the above paragraph because as we read the label directions on the back of a jug of M21 sitting in front of us as we type this, it does not include the above shaking directions.
We will notify marketing about this and if the addition of these directions have not already been added, then it probably will be.

Re: M26 separating?
I appreciate the replies regarding the serarating M21.
Brian, I sent you an email with my name and address.
As for the separating M21, I'm not sure it's usable or not. When it seperates it doesn't seem to want to mix after that. I've shaken the container for several minutes, it appears to mix, then when pouring it out it will drain a LOT of water and it will be separated again. I'm not trying to belabor the issue, just my observations.
Hopefully the new container of M21 will be better.
