  • Trim and Cladding

As you've seen on my gf's 05 Liberty Renegade, tons of cladding. This translates into at least a half hour of application of the following product.

Meguiar's Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber

I have heard recommendations for #40 and also G13415. I was wondering what the overall preference is. My issues with the Shine product are the following:

-Must be EXTREMELY careful not to get it on the paint, it leaves a residue film that is tough to wipe off.

-Must be dry outside when applied, cannot rain for almost a day because it runs off and you have streaks of film coming down from door handles, etc. (I do not use a lot of this product either on the towel)

-Looks Great when clean but does not last very long.

Meguiars Exterior Trim Detailer works well and doesn't run off in the rain.

You also have a lot of trim, so buying in bulk may help as well.

All-Season Dressing is my favorite. #40 is good, Hyper Dressing is good. ASD and #40 should be the longest lasting.

I'll join in on the ASD love. Works great and it's long-lasting.

If you get it on the paint, it's also (in my experience, anyway) easily wiped away with a dose of Quick Detailer. It's a nice change from products I've used in the past, some of which are still on the paint.

All Season Dressing is also on the top of my list, I have never used #40 but all the photos I see of it look great and everyone seems to really like it. Hyper-Dressing is great if you plan on using a lot of dressing, you can dilute it to the desired look.

Now all the dressings I have used seem to leave a residue on the paint. When I apply a dressing I park in the garage(somewhere out of the wind) and spray it on my towel or applicator pad and apply being careful to spray away from the vehicle.
