  • Question about App. Pads

I know you're not supose to use two different products on the same App. Pad. But can you use the same App Pad on different colored cars? Will the color pigment (i think that's the word) that the product pull off of one car, mess with another cars paint?

Also, how do you clean these things when you're done with them?

    Re: Question about App. Pads

So......you are saying you want to detail 2 different colored cars at the same time, without washing the app pads in between, right?

I've got no answer about transferring color pigment, etc......all I can say is you're gutsy for wanting to detail 2 cars at the same time. You're still fairly new to detailing, right? Maybe I am thinking of someone else....

As for cleaning the pads.....I replied in your other post.

      Re: Question about App. Pads

Keep in mind that the paint on pretty much all cars is the same color these days, clear.

There is no such thing as pigment transfer when working on clear coats.

If you have old cars with single stage paint I guess it’s conceivable but I doubt it would ever really be an issue. I have cars with both black and white single stage finishes and I’ve never noticed any problems using the same applicators (although I’ve never compounded them back to back).

      PC.
