I have a brand new 07 black Accord. I wanted to get a coat of wax on it before it gets cold (I'm in Texas). I bought the NXT liquid. I gave it a thorough wash and applied per label (it's cloudy so the surface is cool and I'm inside my garage). Now it is real hard to get all the "haze" off. I am doing this by hand and I cannot seem to get all the wax off. It looks alright in my dimly lit garage, but whne i take it outside I can see some haze. Any suggestions?

Re: NXT wax question
Well, there are three main possibilities for what happened..
1. Even though the car is new, the surface was still a bit dirtier than you thought. Nxt wax, and most others, are ment to be applied on a like-new surface, which is to say clayed/cleaned/polished beforehand. How smooth did the paint seem to feel after washing?

2. You may have applied to thick. This is a very common thing, even for experienced people. It gets very easy to apply to much, and when that happens, it is very easy to get streaking. Here is a link that shows how to use a Spray Wax, which is a little different than a regular liquid/paste wax, but it shows roughly what a thin coat of wax would look like.

3. You may not have let it dry long enough. After letting it haze for a while, wipe a clean finger, or corner of a clean towel, etc, in kind of a quick, wiping motion. It should come off eaily, with no residue left behind. If that doesnt happen, wait longer. Remember to check the last place you applied, not the first.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: NXT wax question
Even after washing, bonded on contaminants could still remain, hich is why clay is important, or dirt in the pores of the paint, which is why cleaning is important. Nonetheless, if it seemed smooth and ok, then you were probably ok for clean paint.
Have you only applied one coat of wax so far? Applying a second coat of wax nice and thin and even may help remove the streaking, and is recomended anyway.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: NXT wax question
Did you let the wax set until completely dry and it swiped clean. Also you mentioned you had a hard time removing, so you applied it way to thick.
Here are my suggestions.
Apply any wax or selant thin. NXT is extermely easy to remove. Apply it "whisper thin". You should barely see the product on the paint, with it becoming more visible as it starts to haze. It will also haze quicker this way.
After a nice haze has formed on the car, briskly swipe the sealent and see if it removes clean. If it does you can remove it.
You likely applied it WAY to thick and didn't give it enough time to bond (haze). This would explain both the hardness of removal and the streaking, hazing on your paint.
To cure this, apply another coat, very thin to the paint. Very thin. Wait until it cures completely then remove.Let's make all of the cars shiny!

Re: NXT wax question
As mentioned, washing will not always remove every contaminant and in these situations claying should do the job, a polish/wax like NXT Tech Wax needs to be applied using thin coats, but it also has to be applied to a clean, smooth surface.
