  • Waxing in COLD weather.

Anyone have any experiences doing this? We have 10 days of dry weather forecast.....COLD but dry. 40 during the day. Humidity is going to be low though so I was wondering if it would be worth my while. No garage to work in but I don't mind. Just having no rain is GREAT.

It can be done, and the ColorX seems to work good enough at that temperature. It will be longer drying times though, so plan accordingly.

You may get a few streaks though, but dont be too picky. I think i got streaks from Nxt when it was cold.

Color X is good. Also # 20 is great in cold.

I second that on the#20 for cold weather waxing, no contest!

I never tried Color X. If it dries quickly it may be a good prep for the #20.

I have recent experience with Meguiar's NXT and #16 at negative ten degrees and it worked out just fine. Just do the swipe test.

In November, I waxed with the same temperature....

40 degrees and a bit higher humidity was a nightmare using Quik Wax. Took 2 hours to dry and I had streaking on the hood. I also used ColorX, and it took maybe a half hour to dry and I had no streaking.....the day I used ColorX was also about 40-42 degrees, but less humidity.
