  • Wax As U Dry

    I have kinda been faithful to this product albeit not Meguiar's. It is Eagle One Wax As U Dry. Simply spray on when the car is still wet after a wash, and wipe it dry with the water. It leaves a smooth finish on the car and helps the wax already on there to shine again. I've been impressed with it so I keep using it.

    I used to use Quick Detailer all the time so I may switch back, but anyone else use this product.

    Re: Wax As U Dry

    I have not personally used "Wax as U Dry" from Eagle One, but I have received a lot of mixed feedback from customers. It was very popular when introduced a couple of years ago. Even from the name you can derive that it's really marketed by touting it's ease of use and time savings. Meguiar's totally understands this desire from the general public and even creates some products with this as a goal.

    I can't speak for Eagle One, but I know from a technical standpoint our biggest battle with these products is getting users to really understand what the product is designed for. Most just assume that a spray wax is a good replacement for their normal liquid or paste wax. That is simply not true. Your post leads me to believe you understand it is simply a booster wax and should be used as maintenance between regular waxing. Good for you.

    I did want to clarify though that Quik Detailer, although a maintenance product as well, is a different type of product with a different intended use. If you are looking for a Meguiar's equivalent to "Wax as U Dry" I recommend you pick up our NXT Generation Spray Wax. We would love to see your comments on a side by side comparison!

      Yeah I def. don't use it as the one and only wax. It's an inbetween for sure.

      I did use the DuPont ****** Spray Wax as well after seeing the commercials. It was just as good as the Eagle 1 but had a few setbacks;

      -When applied DuPont would leave a film in some areas so you had to go back over that part with a dry towel to buff out.

      -It also was a thicker product, almost like a liquid wax itself. So it did not last very long in terms of a bottle.

      -When applied you had to take EVERY precaution not to get any on windows, plastic trim, etc. It would be impossible to get off and leave those dried white stains on your plastic clad.

      I think I may give the NXT a try, and do another comparo, then I can write up on all three thoroughly. They are a very handy product to keep your wax boosted. It allowed me to get my car a full detail twice a year with some wax jobs inbetween. It's also great for that quick wash you do Friday before you head out, gives the car a nice quick shine after a wash.

          Aquawax from Duragloss has received good reviews as a booster wax. Works very well on wet surfaces and works very well with Meguiars waxes, including the #26. I tried some and it does mainain the deep dark look of #26 very well.

            I used meguiars wax as you dry(The Quik Wax). Works out great and gives it that look and feel of just waxed. I use to spray it on when the jeep was wet, but now I use a MEGS aplicator to put it on. Seems to give a more uni-form coverage.

                I've used WAUD also and it seems to an ok product but it smells exactly like the spray wax at the coin-op which has me questioning exactly what it is. It also does not last long. I wish Meguiars would produce something similar to Duragloss' Aquawax, that is a fantastic product.
