  • New chrome wheels how should i take care of them

just got some new chrome wheels for my stang and never did much detailing myself so was wonderin if anybody has any tips on best way to care for them and what products to use in what order, etc.
i waxed them w/ Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax. they look really good but i wiped off the wax off only a couple minutes after putting it on cuz the bottle just said put on and wipe off. should i have let the wax stay on for awhile before wiping?
here is link to pic of my car and if u r a fellow stang owner u should check out my homepage
thanks for any help here is pic of my car

I like NXT on wheels. It has a higher heat tolerance and seems to shed brake dust better. My wheels are not chrome however.

      Hi there,

I only use the NXT wash for washing them and then rinse it off with a portion of water... and nothing else... ofcourse drying the Rims will make them shine a lot.

I would use a synthetic wax/sealent other then a carnuba based wax .Reason being is that carnuba breaks down faster at a higher heat. And once you have a couple of coats on them it's a breeze to maintain them with some quick detailer or nxt sary wax.

NXT rules!! I like to wash with NXT soap and water. Dry. Then stoner glass cleaner. Finish with NXT. Seems pretty good on my Y2Ks.

By the way very very nice stang! Wheres the back wing??

back wing is in a fedex truck (hopefully) but i should have it on this weekend hopefully.

also i see i should have used NXT so how do i take the carnuba off or can i just put the NXT on top of it? sorry if that is a dumb question i am noobie to wax.

Should be alright to top carnauba. NXT might even help to remove some. Your rims are sweet! Looks real good. I take extra care of the rims. I've used hi tech yellow wax on rims before and it was ok. Read somewhere that wax should be applied after each washing... Not too sure on that one but its no big deal to do.
