  • Tip to beginners!

DO NOT TRY AND SCRATCHX YOUR ENTIRE CAR BY HAND!!!

I'm half way done and would prefer to cut both my arms off so i have a legitimate excuse for not finishing. I'm not even doing a hardcore job, just one pass now that i realized how much work it is going to be.

      Sounds about right....

Maybe it would be a good time to polish and wax the areas you finished, and ScratchX some more tomorrow....

Well, ScratchX and Deep Crystal #1 are both cleaners only, that is they only have a little, if any polishing oils.

Following up with a pure polish would add a lot more polsihing oils, giving a better gloss, deeper shine ,etc.

Some of the Profesional products, like #80, contain both cleaners and a lot of polishing oils.

But I wouldnt worry about it now.

, Come on guys, it's called passion. You have to put some passion into that paint. It'll be worth it when you're through .

But then again, I guess I'm being a hypocrite as I use the PC 99% of the time

i figure that if i don't use a pc then i won't ruin the paint...this way i know i wont take it too deep

I know how you feel, I did my friends car with ScratchX by hand. It's painful but well worth the effort.

Nothing feels better than when you finish it and roll the car out into the sun and then stand back and say WOW I did that.
Somehow the pain in your arms seems to fade quickly

Thanks for the encouragement Graeme, I have to go buy another tube of ScratchX and i was having trouble motivating myself. My navigation shows up today too so I want to have this done so I can spend my time installing that.

I do all the detailing work by hand. Not as good as what a PC could do, but I'm in no hurry.
