Very angry with myself

Hi all,

I have a rough spot on my finger and without thinking tried to rub a smudge off my car with that finger. Well now there seem to be a sh*t load of scratches were I went back and forth with the finger. I tried speed detailer, didn't come off. It's very noticable unlike the other scratches because it's almost like a desgin. What would be the best way to remove it? Now this was my finger, not my nail. I have scratchX, but have really never used it before and am unsure how to properly use it. Would polish work?

I would def. give the Scratch X a try. I have used it with great success on small spots just as you mention. Occasionally 2-3 applications are needed to really see a result.

Get yourself a foam or TC applicator pad, squeeze a dab and work the product in. You do not need to do a back and forth up or down, a circular motion works just as well.

One thing to be sure of is to cover an area greater than the immediate scratch, this will ensure you are working across the full area.

Work the Scratch X in for a good minute, then remove immediately with a microfiber or TC towel.

Definately work it in with some passion, until it turns a bit of a greasy clear. Then you know it has been worked in completly and it is time to remove.

Now after useing the scratch X and I like the results, I polish then wax the area correct?

LOL. I wanted to scratchX all the scratches and then polish/wax the car in the spring. I guess this scratch will be a good test because the car is full of scratches and swirls. You know. The annoying as all hell ones that you can only see in sun light. It will probably be a good couple day process.

Now with passion, do you mean really push down hard or just with a little force?

Yes, you can just follow the ScratchX with a polish and wax.

Well, dont push down so hard you bend the panel... but you are working little minature beads against the finish to remove a little paint, so you can imagine you have to push and rub and work them in pretty well to do the job. You might also think of it as rubbing and pushing them against the surface, not pushing down through the paint.

I would also recommend ScratchX because i have a black car and i used it and its works perfectly.
