Clearcoat touch up question

Has anyone had any luck with applying clear-coat touch-up only?
I have a very small scratch on my dark blue Explorer and it looks as though the scratch is in the clear only, not the base coat. It appears that if I do the touch-up on that only, enough of the scratch will be covered that it should be flush with the surrounding paint.

Any thoughts?

I have, and its not bad.

I mean, I just went and got the tiniest point paint brush I could, and applied a little, so it wasn't a huge blob. Still not perfect of course, but it does blend in better.
