Can you put down tech wax, put down a coat of #7 and then put down another coat of tech wax ? Will there be any difference?

Re: Layering wax with a pure polish inbetween
Since #7 is a pure polish, meaning it has no abrasives or cleaners, then in theory you could apply between coats of Tech Wax. But your second question "Will there be any difference?" is the real key though. The reason #7 does what it does (imparts a deep shine and additional beauty to the paint) is because of the high level of polishing oils in it. A coat of Tech Wax before #7 would likely prevent a good deal of those oils getting "into" the paint.
I certainly don't think you'll hurt anything, and on some finishes you might see some minor improvement, but it just isn't the optimum sequence for application.
But hey, experiment away.....nothing there is going to harm your finish.Michael Stoops

I got the idea from Mike Phillip's movie when he applies #7 on top of a coat of wax. He says it gives the finish a wet look(it looks that way also). So i was thinking, what if you used #7 on top of the first coat to get a wet look, but protect it with tech wax to add some life to it.'00 Audi A4 1.8 T

Re: Layering wax with a pure polish inbetween
For what its worth, I just put a coat of yellow #26 paste on top of GC paste which was on top of NXT paste. I took the recommendation of the constabulary to try it. Can I see a difference? Well, I can say for sure that it most assuredly feels super slippery, even more so than the GC which was more than the NXT; and, I can see yet another level of wetness and shine. Clarity is the operative word here. Maybe it's wishful thinking or the sense of anticipation from all the work. Having said that, I can honesly say from the NXT to the GC to the yellow, I have felt the difference and I can see it - respectfully submitted.2007 Toyota Yaris

You see, #7 should only be applied to a finish in excellent condition, that mean either new car, new paint or pre-cleaned and polished paint. What we had parked in front of us at the time the video was shot was an older paint job that had just been cleaned and polished, so we had paint that was perfect for demonstration how to apply and remove #7
It was bonus footage at the end of the taping. The car was finished after the NXT was removed, we shot the #7 footage because we were there and we had film left in the camera.
This has been explained on SCG in great detail.
