  • Using polish on top of wax?

Hey.. I've often polished and waxed my car to get a good finish because I live on a dirt road so it gets dirty all the time..
But.. If fx. today all day I polish and at the end wax it and buff off..
After 3 days I wanna polish it again..
Will the polish penetrate the wax and do the polishing work or will it give the wax he polishing work and effect and not getting into the paint?

I am not really sure what you are asking but:

you can polish and then wax

if you use a pure polish ( one with no cleaning ablility) then you can apply the polish on top of the wax, without stripping the wax.

Which products are you using for polish and wax?
Why would you want to polish again 3 days after having done a full polish job?
Did you miss an area or do you think it needs polishing again?

The simple answer to your question is: yes, you can polish again 3 days after waxing and, yes, the polish will remove the wax and work against the paint. Provided you are talking about a cleaner/polish like M80, ColorX, DC1, etc. A pure polish probably won't gain you much 3 days after polishing and waxing.

Okay so the polisher (the "polisher" not the cleaner) will not remove the wax layer and not do anything..
It's because I've waxed my car a couple of times now and I've been wondering..
If fx. I use Gold Class Liquid Wax to give it a full wax.. How long time will this last?
Because I've been thinking about buying some clay, ScratchX, some colorX, and some NXT and then
wash, clay (claybar), remove scratches (ScratchX), polish (Deep Crystal Polish), clean (ColorX), wax (NXT) and give it a top coat wax of Gold Class Wax..
It's only because I've heard these to waxes combined should give an amazing result..
Now if I only wash my car, clean (with other product) and wax with Gold Class it woun't give much of an shine effect or good color result.. I don't know if it's because it's a mint-green/pistacie green color and therefor it wount shine as much and give so much effect.. It's not metallic paint..

But to get back to the point..
Now I've been waxing my car and if I buy claybar, ScratchX, ColorX, and NXT..
If I use these products will they remove the old wax layer so I can get anything out of these products and perhaps get a new result/better result than my last..?
Because wax should keep watery substances away from the paint, and perhaps if I used these products the wax would just keep them away from the paint and not penetrate the wax, so they woudn't do any good to the paint..

I'm asking this because if it woun't remove the old wax layer, I will have to stop waxing my car from now till I buy these products.. And I would like to keep waxing it till I buy these, because the wax will still give my paint more protection untill I buy these products.. Hope this makes sense to you all..

Will claybar remove the old wax layer?
Will ScratchX remove the old wax layer?
Will ColorX remove the old wax layer and put on a new?
(I know ColorX is a combined cleaner and wax, so I guess it should put on a new layer of wax when you use it)

A pure polish can be applied over a wax, but it will not last long at all.

How long any wax will last depends on many environmental factors - how much rain, how much hot sunshine, how often you wash, what you wash with (dish soap, proper car shampoo, automatic car wash, etc). You can probably expect 1 - 3 months of life out of a wax, depending on what you subject it to.

I think this really sums up what you're asking, right? If so, then the answer to all of these questions is "yes - it will remove the wax".

Year that's the sum of my questions..
Okay so I can just keep waxing it to give the protection untill I get the other products and then use them right away (even if I waxed a week ago) and they will work emidiately right?
