yesterday, i went to the mall and naturally, i went to this automotive shop to look for meguiars product. . . (just look, not gonna buy) i went in to see lots and lots of meguiars product ranging from consumer line to some detailer line. . . then suddenly. . . i saw a can of #8. meguiars mold release car wax. . . and there are two of them! just sitting. . . i asked the sales lady if they have #16 but unfortunately, they have none. . . i just want to ask if this product is rare on the market and how it is compared to all the other waxes meguiars offer?

    Re: #8

This is a special product used ON molds, or patterns, that will get fiberglass applied to it so that the finished fiberglass item will release from the mold. Not intended for car paint finishes.

See Meguiar's Product Lines > Mold Release Line on this site for discussions. The thread is way down the list of threads.

If you can't find #16, 2 coats of #8 are the equivalent!

Don't take that seriously and don't use #8 on your car unless you are using a fender or bumper to make a fiberglass mold.

No. It's a mold release wax, if you're manufacturing products using a mold, you would use a wax like this. If you're working on cars, then stick with our automotive lines.

Because there are two kinds of car owners: Racers ans waxers.

Well, some folks that work in the automotive world also work with molds manufacturing their own products, could be this auto store carries some Mold Release wax for a specific customer. Perhaps frustrateddetailer can go back to the store and ask someone in charge,

"Who do you sell the Mold Release Wax to?"

                      Might be interesting to know?
