  • How to handle a large decal.

New car is a 2004 Corvette Commerative Edition Le Mans blue with a large silver/red/cf decal across the hood roof & trunk.

I was thinking of clay, then a light poilsh & then nxt probably. I have the pc tool & have used b4.

    Anything special about the decal?

    Thanks.

Check to make sure there are no edges coming up off of the paint. When working near the edges pass them quickly so your time isn't spent removing product from them. Polish, wax & QD them as paint. Good luck & enjoy your new ride.

I agree with Stealth. If I am working much with anything like #80 or #83 on the G100 I tape the edges just to be safe. I hadn't had any problems yet with mine. Here's a photo of my decal. http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17238

Something with a low adhesiveness or one designed for delicate surfaces.

3M makes a good low adhesive, but if you can't get it go to a house paint center and ask them for something for delicate surfaces.
