Re: How to transfer product from wax tin to pad?
This is a technique that is learned and perfected, so don't think it's easy and can be done perfectly the first time. Go through a couple of cans of 16 and you'll become a pro
Take you foam applicator pad and spin it on the top surface of the wax, do this gently, that is you need some light pressure but not too much.
The spinning action of the foam against the hard, dry wax will act to liquify the wax and enable it to penetrate into the foam. Now go apply this to the paint. As the foam runs out of wax repeat the spinning of the foam against the wax.
focus on taking the can of wax down equally. To do this you have to focus on spinning the pad against the outside portion of the can because it's just too easy to spin your applicator on the middle of the wax in the can.
Tried to show and explain this here, and try to show this at all our classes, (how to get a paste wax out of a can).
How To Remove Swirls By Hand
With paste waxes like Gold Class Clear Coat Wax Paste, M26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax, and NXT Generation Tech Wax Paste, instead of scooping wax out of the can, you can twist, or spin your wax applicator against the wax while it's in the can and this little bit of agitation will help to liquefy the wax and enable it to seep, or penetrate into your applicator pad whereupon making it easier to apply to the finish.
Paste waxes like NXT Tech Generation Wax offer good gliding action and tend to apply very easy. Remember a little bit goes a long ways and it's important to try to apply a uniform, thin coating.

Ahhh, so your saying to take an aplicator pad and take the wax from the tin to the paint, then put the DA on the paint and spread it out? That makes more sense than trying to transfer the wax from the tin to the G100 pad then to the paint.

No, that's not what I was saying, I thought you meant to a hand applicator pad.
If you want to get the wax out of the can and onto a dual action polisher then most people use a knife, spatula, or the clean handle of your PC wrench.
To my knowledge there is no Simple-Simon way, you just have to struggle because you don't want to get too much wax on the pad/surface and you also don't want to carve up the wax in the can too badly and you also don't want to waste product.
So amongst all of these variables, there is no Simple-Simon way, but you can do, find what works and post back here.

I haven't tried this yet, but I'm thinking these small scrapers or perhaps a spatula would work well. I got these scrapers from Pampered Chef a long time ago. They get a lot of use in the kitchen. They are about 1.5" square.
I think the key would be to not gouge up the wax too bad or it will be hard to use with a hand applicator later.

This may not sound like the best method, but I just use the applicator pad that comes with the paste to evenly distribute a thin layer of NXT paste on the DC pad. Seems to work pretty well.

Came across this on the web. Worth a try, I guess.
"If you are using a paste wax, spread it onto the pad like you're buttering a piece of bread. You can turn the jar of wax upside down and slide the wax out into a plastic sandwich bag to rub it onto the pad."
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I saw that too. What's absolutely beyond me is that WHY'd you remove that wax from the tin???????????
If it pops out, you can hold the wax with the tin itself!!! When you pop it out and hold it it can contaminate, pick up little hairs, etc. WHY TAKING IT OUT???
C'mon, it's not that difficult...

Re: How to transfer product from wax tin to pad?
Hello everyone.
I'm new here (1st post, ever!). I've got a PC and some pads, which I'm hoping to use soon for the first time on my Avus Silver 05 Audi TT soon for the first time.
My GF bought me some Swissol Saphir wax for Christmas, so I've been wondering the same. Of course one could apply wax and buff by hand but that seems like getting a dog and doing the barking yourself when you have a PC!!
Not sure I like the idea of removing or loosening the wax from the pot incase it falls on the floor, not too enthusiastic about the scrape and spread method either.
Someone on the Autopia forum cleaned out a deodorant stick, gently melted some Collinite 476 (good-stuff BTW) and poured it in. Put in the fridge to set, and hey presto! Wax-stick!
I had a simpler idea, and I wonder what you guys might think.
What if you use a terry or MF bonnet, put a small hand applicator pad inside it, and then wipe the bonnet/pad combo in the wax. Move the pad around inside the bonnet and repeat, to get an even application over the entire bonnet, then put the bonnet onto to PC pad.
So whaddya think? Good plan or not?
BTW, Mike, I got the Show Car Garage DVD (the one with the black Corvette) and have watched this x3 already before even going near ny car with the PC. What a great tutorial!! Just wanted to say thanks.
What's the DVD with called with the Orange Lotus, and where can I get it please?

Well, given most paste wax is in a tin made out of metal, I don't think you will be sqeezing it to hold the wax partially out of the tin.
Not real sure how holding something in your clean hand will attract little hairs, etc. When was the last time you were holding a glass of water and little hairs were flying into it?
