Hi everyone, I'm new here to the forum. Been lurking around for a couple of weeks now. Ok so, I'm usually good about washing and maintaining my own vehicles but earlier this week I had an appointment to go to and I couldn't show up with a dirty car, so I had the mobile car wash guy that comes by the office weekly wash it for me. Needless to say, he left swirl marks all over it. I'm assuming from using an abrasive drying towel. I just bought the car a couple of months ago and haven't had time to wax it. Yes, stupid I know. I want to get rid of the swirl marks as best as possible with minimal effort. By stating swirl marks I mean spiderwebs/cobwebbing on the surface of the car.
With that said, can I prep the surface by just claying it or should I use a paint cleaner such as the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner instead? Or both? My idea was to wash using Gold Class CW, clay it, polish it using Deep Crystal System Polish, and finishing up with NXT paste wax. These products are to be applied by hand to a 2006 Black Mustang GT with no major defects (other than the nice, shiny swirl marks). Does this process with these products sound good? The swirl marks/spiderwebs are very light, I was able to do a quarter of the hood last night just using ScratchX and it helped a lot, but I don't want those swirl marks making a comeback anytime soon. Again, I want to get the best results with the less effort for now so I am not expecting a show car shine.
Am I on the right track or is this overkill for getting rid of those swirls? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
