  • Removing dried cleaner/compound/polish

    Hi guys

My name is Ravi and I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I would like to ask if anyone has used a solution to remove dried compound/wax/polish from your car panels? I have read on some forums that you can use a 50/50 mix of water and alchohol to do this. If anyone has done this, is this safe and what is the proper dilution ratios?Mike, any comment?

    Yours sincerely
    Ravi

Do you mean those gray/black plastic panels, or painted panels?

Do not required any solution to remove dried wax/polish/compound. You will mess up your work. Just need a dry Meguairs Microfibre cloth, this is the best product to use.

        Hi

Thanks for the advice Vincent, I will definately do that. And to answer Murr1525's question, I was talking about the removing the dried product from the doors, hood, etc.

        Many thanks

So you just mean what to remove products with as you work? One important thing is that only waxes need to dry. Polishes, Cleaners, etc do not. They can be harder to remove if you allow them to dry.
