  • Personal Detail Schedule

Monday- Tires and Trim (NXt tire cleaner, endurance tire gloss, exterior trim detailer)

Tuesday- Rims (no products, just water and a lot of elbow grease)

    Wednesday- Glass (Nxt glass cleaner)

Thursday- body (Nxt spray detailer, nxt spray wax)

    Friday- Plastics (Plasticx)

    Saturday- Vacuum (just my vacuum)

Sunday- interior( a whole lot of stuff)

Is this a good order to do it in. I chose this order cause of my schedule so some days will be shorter than others. Is there anything else you would add?

You need to combine either mon/tues, or wed/thurs, or possibly sat/sun tasks into one day so that you free up at least one solid day that you can drive the damn thing without detailing it!!

Are you short on time or something?

I usually do all of that in one day..

I'm assuming you mean doing this every week? If so, that would be awesome! I wish I had the organization/dedication/time/memory to do that lol.

          Saturday-I detail it.

Aprox. 3-4 months later (when people start commenting on can an auto detailers car look so bad or if I can't see through the windows) I detail it again.

Yes this is weekly. When i have a free saturday, i will do a full detail, but saturday's are busy right now. So i figure this is the next best thing.

              Re: Personal Detail Schedule

Seems a little extreme to be honest... unless you are looking at as that is what to do each day "if needed".

I mean, if you need to vacuum every week, you might want to stop eating in your car. And PlastX every week?

                Re: Personal Detail Schedule

I agree with the plasticx, ill probably just make friday an off day. And of course i will do it as needed, im not going dress my tires every week or dress some of the interior. ON the other hand, vacuuming the car weekly is important to me, even if i dont eat in it. Stuff just somehow ends up in my car.

                      Re: Personal Detail Schedule

Definitely do the wheels and tires at the same time. If you do the tires Monday and the wheels on Tuesday you'll just mess up the dressing on the tires and have to do them all over again anyway.

                          Re: Personal Detail Schedule

My daily routine is (if it didn't rain, if the car is just plain dusty):
                          - check for bird poop & bug splatter
                          - california dust ( I only dust if it's dusty, not dirty from rain or road splash)
                          - QD

Every other day (along with above):
                          - apply wet mf with Simple Green and wipe wheels, splash guards, tire wells
                          - apply QD on wheels
                          - clean windows as needed

                          Once a week:
                          - wash car, qd, tire protectant, 303 on trim & wheel wells
                          - detail engine bay (paint, hoses, rubber) by dusting and applying protectant

                          Once a month:
                          - detail interior: vacuum, dust, apply protectant on vinyl, leather conditioner, clean interior glass

                          Every other month:
                          - apply sealant or wax (my pref is sealant for now)

Every 12 months check for swirls:
                          - pc

                          Every 18 months or sooner:
                          - Clay

You do this all year, and nothing gets out of hand.

Let's make all of the cars shiny!

                              Re: Personal Detail Schedule

With some practice and a set routine, I can get all of that done in about an hour. All that with a coat wax is 2 hours total. Just 10 minutes alone is set up and another 10 of putting everything away. I do a 45 minute wash almost weekly - that's wash, wheels, tires, windows, interior, door jambs. Then vacuum and wax as needed.

It seems that taking an hour to do that would be more efficient than 10 - 15 minutes everyday. That's just me though. If you find that works for you, by all means stick with it.
