  • What am I doing wrong here ??? MPPC related

So I washed, clayed, then started polishing using yellow polishing pad and MPPC.
Using a PC on #5,everything went well.I only left the MPPC on the car after polishing for 30-45 sec, when I went to take it off with a MF,the thing was already dry

That was supposed to be like that ?

    Thanks

    Hi Webb,

Is it warm outside? On the 5.0 setting, your working the product in pretty well and probably leaving very thin coating. Also, the PC on the 5.0 setting does generate some heat.

Best bet would be to remove quickly, if you think it's necessary, mist on some quick detailer. Also, a high quality, plush, as in large nap/loop terry cloth towel will help you to break up the layer of MPPC.

    What are you working on?

I use around spped 3 or 3.5 for MPPC, as Mike said speed 5 will create some heat which will help dry out the MPPC quicker.

IMO, it's more of a hand product than machine product. So the speed might be the problem that is shortening the working time. It has more chemical action than abrasive action, so you don't need the speed to break it down. Also, how long did you work it, and how much did you use? You might try either the lower speed, or maybe working it a bit less or using a bit more. If your car is very oxidized, try hitting it twice or three times as opposed to one really long time. Let us know if you resolve it, and what worked.

MPPC is a long time favorite of mine. I use it with my PC at #3 with a polishing pad. I work it for a minute or two in a 2'x2' section at a time and remove it immediately with a 100% Cotton (Meguiars) towel. This is a very effective chemical cleaner and does a great job of removing oxidation, road grime and old wax. It does not need to be worked in like a polish. I love this stuff.

MPPC is my old standby...I use it with a PC on the 5 setting, plus I buff it in rather well.

But be sure to remove it right after buffing.

I notice too It didn't do nothing to remove swirl marks.Should I spend more time in one spot with a low speed 3-3.5 ?

              Thanks

MPPC will remove very light swirls. If they are still there after using MPPC you might need to step up to a product with more abrasives in it. You might try some #80, or #82. Once you get the swirls out MPPC is a great maintenance product.

Kick the speed up to 4.5 to 5.0 and work the product in well....But don't let it dry.
