  • A lot of hard work...but

    I did it!

You can see the condition of the car previously here:
Well I simply put, the car had spray paint that somehow got onto it and then afterwards, was wet sanded in an attempt to take it off (don't ask...long story). I like to think of this car as a test subject for when I get my next car since this one is beat up around the edges. The paint has been on there for a long time now and

So I went down to Pepboys, bought some Scratch X, DC#2, DC#3, and a glass of Diet Coke.

Washed it, clayed it with consumer grade clay, used DC#2 all over, then on the doors that were messed up I REALLY worked some Scratch X and more DC#2 into them. Waxed it with DC#3 and toss some Hot Tire Shine on the tires. While it still isn't as reflective as the passanger side, it sure as hell isn't ugly and matches the other panels now! Done by hand.

I guess I'm just not as big of a panzy as you guys... J/K

Being in good health and having good tools (Meguiars Even-Coat Applicators! California Water Blade! Microfiber!) does a lot! I think it took me about 5 hours to do it all.

where did you use the Diet Coke?
Detailing cars is a form of art. Most appreciate it, few possess the required skill and even fewer understand it.

              In muh BELLIE!!!!!!!!

Hopefully I will have a G100 by the end of the year...

Do you guys think that will take care of the remaining swirl marks? I am hoping that it will be strong enough with the right product/pad to restore older cars (seeing as I plan to get a 1991-1996 BMW in a few months).
