  • bird poo stain :(

hey all, just bought a new black car and had a paint sealant applied from the dealership (only about 1000km old now) left a bird dropping on the paint for too long resulting in this:

how do i get rid of it!? what process do you recommend?
wash, clay, scratch-x, wax/sealant? how different is scratch-x to the deep crystal paint cleanser?

    thanks in advance!

The process you have outlined looks right. Important to get the area clean first thru washing/claying.

Scratch X, if I'm not wrong, goes deeper to remove contaminants that have gone beyond the top layer of the paintwork.

I've recently used it to remove bird poo as well, and am very happy with the results. Can hardly see where the poo was..
    It's all a passion....

There is no such thing as cleaning deeper... it all just cleans the surface.

But ScratchX has a more agressive diminishing abrasive, and maybe a little stronger chemical cleaner, so it can get rid of stains/etching/swirls much better than DC#1 can.

Read this and follow the directions and if the bird dropping stain can be removed then if you put a little passion behind the pad you'll be able to remove it or at least improve it to the point that it can't be seen easily.

How to remove the stain left by a bird dropping

Here's your stain cropped out of the mega huge picture you linked to, we cropped it out and uploaded the important portion into our gallery. This looks like it will come out easily with some ScratchX. Remember to apply some wax afterwards as ScratchX is not a paint protectant but a paint cleaner.

So the dealer applied paint protectant didn't protect the paint? How about taking it to the dealership for a new paint job?

yeah they applied a sealant at the dealership with warranty, no doubt theres an exclusion cause that gets them out of it. heres a few more pictures of the affected area in daylight, previous images were taken at night

          rest of the paintwork:
