  • 83, 80, and 21 or/and nxt on my black nightmare

I am going to get some supplies tomorrow hopefully. I tested out some Scratch X (original) via pc with an orange LC pad last night and I was getting decent results. I couldn't believe how crappy my paint looked, considering it had just been painted a few months ago...I got screwed. Anyways I have been looking at a ton of posts and trying to put together a game plan. I'm, thinking:

    m83 via orange LC pad
    m80via white LC pad
and this is where I see some differences... Some people jump right to NXT after the m83 and/or m80. Some people only follow up with m21, and some use m83/m80/m21/nxt.

Can someone tell me if this is overkill and recommend a plan of action?

This is a time-proven recipe for success assuming you use the right pads, techniques and you're combination of skill and passion match your hopes and efforts.

Meguiar's does not recommend using cutting pads with the PC and often times we help people undo the damage they cause when people use them based upon recommendations given on other detailing discussion forums or following the manufactures recommendations.

Cutting pads when used with a PC will remove defects, but they tend to scour and haze the paint. We can accomplish everything a cutting pad can do with our polishing pads and have proven this time and time again at our Saturday classes.

Your car, your paint, your choice.

        Good luck!

Check out the pictures in this thread, the upper right hand section is hazed from using a cutting pad. The lower half is where we fixed it, and removed the defects using our polishing pad.

Thanks for the help guys, I don't think my budget will allow for all of those products, if a couple had to go which would they be?

#1. 80 #2. lsp/wax of your choice..two coats. If the 80 doesn't give you the desired results witha PC you're going to need some 83 too.

At least I wasn't the only guy who made this mistake

But yes, my cutting pad is now used for product removal with a bonnet
