Re: Removing wax with wool pad...?

Hi Vincent, Glad tht u got ur Bosch unit. My B&D is quite big to used. Hehehe. The Bosch one is smaller n well build. Where u got it? I saw in Prai selling for RM295. Ok Vincent tell me how the Bosch unit works ok. I was only afraid that the OPM was high and maybe was a bit loud. That's all.

With the B & D I can't stop the rotation with my hand. Also as Bernard says its very quiet when working which is a plus for your ears....

        Hi Barnard,
I"ve tried out the PEX270 yeaterday, it is easy to use and I used it with #80 to remove swirl mark. Only remove 80% of swirl after 3 pases,I think this is not a very agressive machine to my expectations. it can't remove major scretches.(I will consider to get the rotary in my next budget.) It Is very handy use to applying wax. Save lots of time and effort.

Hi Vincent, nice to hear a good feedback from u. I was considering getting the Bosch GEX270AE too. I went to test the Ryobi RSE-1250 yesterday and it was pretty small and light too. And the machine was very quiet too. But its a bit more expensive than the Bosch. One more thing Vincent urs is GEX or PEX? I thought u got the GEX? Thks.

Sawadikap, Asaf does ur B&D plate wobble? Mine does, I think I spoilt it while removing the black foam to glue the Velcro onto the plate? I went to see both Bosch & Ryobi. Both machine was pretty good. Its actually quite cheap comparing to the B&D RO as both machine is way better build and quality wise far more superior than the B&D. I actually regreted buying the B&D. Hehehe. Maybe use it as backup unit in future. I'm only worried bout the higher OPM - Bosch & Ryobi machine may coz problem if use it often. What do u think? Thanks & Merry Happy Christmas guys & gals.

Hehehe. I think if they don't apply like that they can't snap that photo. Does look like wet sanding...? Don't u think so.

Sawadee Bernard, Actually I have not tried to retrofit the B & D plate yet because I am trying to use a MF Bonnet my wifes mom made for me. This seems to work quite well because like you said if you modify the plate I don't think you can replace it if you mess up.... Another idea was from the other thread were Amari showed us what he did --- click http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...259#post145259 but it does look like he changed the rubber as well. That may cause it to be out of balance which is causing the wobble. I know even a bonnet that is not proper makes it wobble so that was one of the obstacles I had to over come making my own which in the end I got right. I will snap some pictures sooon

Sawadeekap. Thks Asaf, I look closely at it & found that it's the bearing that causes mine to wobble. If u touch the plate it seems to be shaking a bit. Since u didn't cut off the black foam, u can't see the bearing that is inside.

I think its the design & not much I can do. But since I'm using it once a week only, I can live with it untill it really can't be use any longer. Hehehe. It sure beats applying wax with hand. Faster & more even. Thks bro. Take it easy.

Yup, u saw the rotary at 99 Acc. Shop in BM isit? Hehehe. I nearly bought it last 2 weeks ago. But it was too heavy thats why I didn't buy it at the end. The Ryobi is Orbital Sander (6000 - 12000 OPM). Very small, smaller than Bosch.

My friends sisters car looked like that the other day. I guess her husband atempted to wax her car and could not get the wax off so he just left it. 3 months later the car finds it way to me. I hade to use some #80 to get it off. I started with some QD and nothing even tried to use clay and nothing. I busted out the 80 and I could tell very quickly that the surface was not preped for wax. It took a good two hours to get the wax off.
You left out licking the water off. Oh, wait a minute, that's my cat, not my car. Uh, I mean my cat licks himself dry. I don't lick my cat dry. Or my car. -PC.
