I have a new single stage black paint job on 87' Porsche 944S. It was painted 2 months ago and unfortunately I do not have a garage. Everyday when I get home the first thing I do is inspect for bird dropping, sap, wet leaves, etc. and remove them by using techniques learned here. I know my paint is still "outgassing" now but when would an appropriate time to use a car cover to protect it from the elements. She is a weekend warrior so the cover will be on her a good bit. A couple suggestions for a brand or type of cover would be nice also. Oh yeh....Can't wait to put that first coat of NXT on her !!

Re: Car cover for new paint
I had a car repainted a year or so ago and was told by the body shop to leave the cover off for a full month - same time frame that they told me to abstain from waxing the car.
For a car cover I would recommend getting the absolute best one you can afford. Go to carcoverworld dot com and read up on the various fabrics. I've gotten a couple of covers here and they seem to have just about the best pricing, plus free shipping. For really good covers there seems to be just a handful of materials that everyone uses. Again, don't skimp here!!Michael Stoops
