  • Lacquer

I have painted some speakers with rattle can black lacquer. I have them sanded down to 1500 grit. I guess I am ready to polish them and I'm not sure which type of polish I should use. Or should I take these speakers to Maco or something and have them put a clear coat on the speakers, then polish them?

    Re: Lacquer

Unless you've applied a lot of paint, chances are good buffing the paint will result in burning through somewhere, sometime.

    You could try though.

Try using a polishing pad with a cleaner/polish, this type of paint should be fairly soft and the scratches should buff out fairly easy. If this doesn't work you could always try something more aggressive like M84 with a W-7006, or our new Solo System.

Again, film-build, or lack thereof is going to be an issue.

Might want to contact Macco and see if they would do clear them for you and if they will, see what they will charge.

Whatever your decision, please post back here with your results.
